Description:

We have introduced a solution for identifying when our port scanner is being spoofed to believe that 100s and 1000s of ports are open on the same IP. When that happens, we will filter out the spoofed ports. Ports 80 and 443 will not be filtered out, so we can still find and assess your web application. However, if you determine that we have missed a port that you know is open, you can add that to the force list in Surface Monitoring settings.

Key improvements:

• Less noise with a significantly reduced number of ports found open. This will make finding open ports that shouldn't be exposed easier.
• If you have had spoofed ports on your attack surface, expect the number of open ports on your account to reduce over the coming days as these get cleaned out and removed.
